SUPERDOC Master Cleanse Diet

Welcome to 2019!

As we face the new year, many of us are looking to jumpstart our health. Like many, I happily over-indulged in treats, sweets and celebratory liquid calories during the holidays, and now it’s time to face the scale (or the jeans), own the numbers and get to work. So back by popular demand, here is my annual new year’s WORLD FAMOUS Dr. Grimes’ SUPERDOC Cleansing 3-Day Detox Diet* (or insert whatever over-the-top superlative and overstated title you prefer)

2018 SIMPLE Doctor Approved Master Cleanse

Happy New Year and Welcome to 2018!

This year, my theme is SIMPLE. Attention spans are decreasing as fast as our waistlines are increasing (coincidence? Hmm). With tongue firmly planted in cheek, I’m putting everything in my life on a “diet”- or at least a simplification plan, from our overflowing garage and closets, to medicine cabinets, to e-mail in-boxes, to my blog word count, and yes, my own body. Like many, I happily over-indulged in treats, sweets and celebratory liquid calories during the holidays, but now it’s time to face the scale, own the numbers and get to work.

New Years’ Resolutions: Take 2

Well, here we are at the end of January already…and how are you doing with your New Year’s Resolutions? From the number of FitBits and step counts that I am seeing and hearing, I believe many people are enjoying being more active (or at least enjoying “competing” with themselves or friends over their numbers.) Perhaps the two most common health related resolutions are to increase exercise and to eat “better”. What does that really mean?

First let’s tackle “increase exercise”. Please, focus on the INCREASE. If you are honestly doing nothing, start with walking. Consider a “FitBit” or a smart … Read more

Will You “Cervive” in 2015?

Is 2015 the year you finally truly prioritize YOUR health? The majority of Americans include weight loss and possibly exercise in their New Year’s Resolutions each year…and do really well on their strict diets for a few days or maybe even a few weeks. While I absolutely applaud attention to weight and activity levels, I want to encourage you to think beyond diet and exercise for your 2015 health resolutions. (And I will spend time in future blogs this month talking more about what diets work best, but today I want to shift the focus…)

January happens to be Cervical Read more

Happy New Year! Many people start each year with resolutions surrounding their health, so I’d like to  jump in and suggest that you put one EASY resolution at the very top of your list. This resolution should take up well less than an hour of your life, yet can make a tremendous difference in your health for 2014…so here it is: GET YOUR ANNUAL FLU VACCINE!

If you have already received yours, pat yourself on the back & remember to encourage your friends and family to get theirs. I will confess that certain members of my family kept putting … Read more

Facebook Diet!

Happy February! How are those New Year’s Resolutions holding up for you? I hope at least a couple healthy choices are sticking with you…If not, I’ve got a social media suggestion that might just keep you on the straight and narrow. Meet the “Facebook Diet” concept!

Full credit for this idea comes from my high school friend, Anne White. In fairness, in her case, I should call it a FB Exercise Plan, but the concept is easily extended to other healthy choices such as pumping up your fruits and veggies, quitting smoking, or yes, exercise. Back to Anne. In … Read more

SPA Water – At YOUR House!

Over the holidays, I went to a gathering for teenage girls that included a fabulous cookie exchange. There were tempting gingerbread cookies, snickerdoodles, chocolate everythings, and good old-fashioned Christmas cookies to tempt every palate. Imagine my surprise and delight when I left this party with a HEALTHY idea! What was it? SPA Water!

In a large, beautiful, clear glass dispenser, the hostess (thank you, Toni Holmes!) had simply sliced up whatever citrus fruit she had on hand- oranges & lemons- and added them to water and ice. I found myself (as did the other moms and many of the girls) … Read more
